Aqualy, hereinafter referred to as the “Application” or “Service,” is a hydration tracking application developed by CLApps. This Privacy Policy explains what information Aqualy may collect, how that information is used, how it is protected, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Aqualy may collect or store the following types of information, depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant.

1.1 Information You Provide in the App

Aqualy may allow you to enter or configure information such as:

  • Biological sex, when used to estimate hydration goals
  • Weight
  • Bedtime, wake time, or routine preferences
  • Preferred measurement units
  • Daily hydration goal settings
  • Water intake logs, including volume and time
  • Custom glass or serving sizes
  • Goal adjustment settings selected by you
  • App appearance and personalization preferences

This information is used to provide the app’s core functionality, including hydration tracking, goal calculation, reminders, charts, history, and summaries.

1.2 Health and Fitness Information

If you enable features that use Apple Health or HealthKit, Aqualy may request permission to read specific health and fitness data, such as activity-related information, workouts, active energy, steps, or other supported data types used to improve hydration goal adjustments.

Aqualy only accesses Apple Health data after you grant permission through Apple’s authorization screen. You can manage or revoke this permission at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.

Aqualy does not use Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining.

1.3 Weather and Contextual Information

Aqualy may use weather-related information, such as temperature, humidity, or other environmental conditions, to support hydration goal adjustments and related app features.

Depending on the implementation and permissions granted, weather-related features may use device, system, or location-based services. If location access is requested, Aqualy will explain the purpose before requesting permission.

1.4 Notifications

Aqualy may schedule local notifications to remind you to drink water or review your hydration progress. Notification permission is controlled by iOS, and you can enable, disable, or modify notification settings at any time in iOS Settings.

1.5 Purchase and Subscription Information

Aqualy may offer optional subscriptions through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing are managed by Apple. Aqualy may receive limited subscription status information from Apple to determine whether Premium features should be unlocked.

Aqualy does not receive or store your full payment card information.

1.6 Usage, Diagnostics, and Crash Information

Aqualy may collect diagnostic or crash-related information to help identify errors, improve performance, and maintain app reliability. This may include device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, performance data, and general usage information.

If third-party diagnostics or analytics tools are used, they must provide protection consistent with this Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Information

Aqualy uses information to:

  • Provide hydration tracking features
  • Calculate and display daily hydration goals
  • Record and show water intake history
  • Generate charts, summaries, and progress indicators
  • Schedule hydration reminders
  • Support Apple Watch, widgets, and iCloud-related app experiences when available
  • Enable Premium features after purchase
  • Improve app stability, performance, and usability
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations and App Store requirements

3. Health Information and Medical Disclaimer

Aqualy is intended to support general hydration awareness and habit tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or personalized medical advice.

Hydration needs can vary depending on age, body characteristics, health conditions, medications, pregnancy, breastfeeding, activity, environment, and other factors. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medications, or have questions about hydration, you should consult a qualified healthcare professional.

4. Sharing of Information

Aqualy does not share your personal hydration or health information with third parties for advertising, marketing, or data mining.

Information may be shared only in limited situations, such as:

  • With service providers that help operate, diagnose, or improve the app, if applicable
  • With Apple for subscription processing, App Store services, HealthKit permissions, iCloud services, or system features you choose to use
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect legal rights
  • With your explicit consent

Any third party that processes user data on behalf of Aqualy must provide protection consistent with this Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Sync

Aqualy may store app data locally on your device. If iCloud or CloudKit sync is enabled or used by the app, some app data may sync across your Apple devices through Apple’s services according to your iCloud settings.

Apple Health data access is controlled by the Health app and iOS permissions. You remain in control of which health data types Aqualy can access.

You are responsible for maintaining device backups if you want to preserve local app data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Aqualy keeps app data for as long as necessary to provide the Service or until you delete it through the app, remove the app, change your device settings, or request deletion where applicable.

You may delete app data by using available in-app controls, deleting the app from your device, or managing related data in iOS, iCloud, or the Health app, depending on where the data is stored.

7. Security

We value your trust and use reasonable measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage, transmission, or synchronization is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

Aqualy is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through Aqualy, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Links to Other Sites

Aqualy or the CLApps website may contain links to external websites, including Apple services or support pages. These external sites are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.

10. International Users

Aqualy may be available in multiple countries and languages. By using the Application, you understand that information may be processed according to this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of Aqualy after changes are posted means that you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
